Wing D / Device fleet

An unpatched machine in a treatment room is a decision somebody made by not deciding.

Most practices know roughly how many computers they have. Far fewer can say which ones took last month updates, which sit on a version nobody issues updates for any more, and which handset in the building is carrying a mailbox. These four lines answer that continuously and then act on the answer.

Inventory first, because you cannot patch what you cannot see

The first useful thing a management agent produces is an honest list. Practices are routinely surprised by it: the spare machine in the back that still has a mapped drive, the laptop a departed associate never returned, the workstation still running a build its own vendor abandoned two years back.

Once the list is honest, patching becomes a schedule rather than an intention. N-able N-sight carries watching, patching, scripts, and remote hands on a single agent, which also means fewer site visits and less waiting for somebody to drive across town.

Apple and handsets are not an afterthought here

Dental and specialty practices in particular run more Apple hardware than they expect to, most of it bought singly across the years and never enrolled anywhere. Addigy brings that estate under proper configuration management instead of a workaround.

Phones are the other quiet gap. If a clinician reads practice mail on a personal handset, that handset is part of your environment whether or not anyone planned it. Zimperium sits on the handset and reaches its verdicts without calling out to anything first.

Medical devices are the exception nobody mentions on a pricing page. Imaging modalities and connected clinical equipment usually cannot take an agent at all.

Device Monitoring and Patching

N-able N-sight, the agent that carries the fleet

Unbroken visibility into condition, stock, and update level wherever Windows, macOS, or Linux runs, with tablets and handsets managed alongside. This is the line that converts a rough guess about your estate into a maintained record.

  • Condition, stock, and update level reported without a break, machine by machine.
  • Patch deployment on a schedule you agree rather than whenever a user allows it.
  • Scripting and remote support, which means fewer site visits for small problems.
  • Handsets and tablets managed alongside the desktops, on the same enrollment.

Web Filtering and Browsing Control

The same agent, extended to web activity

Browsing protection, category filtering, and bandwidth visibility carried by the management agent already sitting on the machine. No appliance to rack, no separate rollout, and visibility that includes private browsing sessions.

  • Category filtering and reputation checks applied to browsing on managed devices.
  • Visibility across programmatic and browser activity, private sessions included.
  • Bandwidth reporting, which is how you find the machine nobody is using properly.
  • Runs on the existing agent, so there is nothing extra to install or rack.

Apple Device Management

Addigy, for the Mac and iPad fleet

Real configuration management for Apple hardware: baselines enforced, software deployed, inventory kept current, and remediation carried out remotely. Built for estates assembled a purchase at a time, never enrolled into anything at all.

  • Baseline settings enforced rather than merely suggested, on macOS and on iOS.
  • Software deployment and remote remediation without touching each machine.
  • Continuous inventory, so the Apple side stops being a separate mystery.
  • Policy automation for the settings auditors and questionnaires ask about.

Phone and Tablet Threat Defense

Zimperium, running on the handset itself

Protection living on the handset, for whichever iOS and Android hardware your staff read messages on. The models live locally, so a phone in a basement treatment room with no bars stays protected rather than merely unwatched.

  • Judgement happens locally on the handset, with no lookup required to reach a verdict.
  • Detects malicious applications, phishing links, and network interception attempts.
  • Flags jailbroken and rooted handsets, which are a quiet and common risk.
  • Covers devices that hold practice mail whether or not they hold anything else.

Included scope

What you get on these lines

  • An honest inventory of what you actually have, kept current.
  • Patch scheduling agreed with you, including maintenance windows around clinic hours.
  • Remote support so small problems do not need a visit.
  • Reporting on configuration state, ready to hand over when somebody asks for it.
Honest scope

Where this wing stops

Fleet management is where the healthcare exceptions bite hardest. These are the ones that matter.

  • Medical devices are usually out of scope entirely. Imaging modalities, connected clinical equipment, and anything running a manufacturer locked build generally cannot take a management agent, and installing one where the manufacturer forbids it can void support. These need network separation, which is a design conversation and not a line on a price list.
  • Some clinical software pins an old operating system. When a practice management vendor validates against a build and refuses to support anything newer, patching hits a wall that is contractual rather than technical. We will document it. We cannot patch around it.
  • Filtering categorizes, and categorization is imperfect. Legitimate medical sites get miscategorized, and the fix is an exception list that takes a few weeks to settle. Expect to tell us about a few of these.
  • Managing a personal phone raises questions worth answering first. Enrolling a device somebody owns changes what the practice can see and do with it. That needs a written policy and staff consent before enrollment, not afterwards.
  • Patching reduces exposure. It does not close it. There is always a window between a vulnerability becoming known and a patch being safe to deploy on clinical hardware. The detection lines in Wing A exist for it.
